Was just about to send for the death certificate of Elizabeth Bolton in Macclesfield Cheshire in 1842.

Was steered towards http://cheshirebmd.org.uk/ to purchase certificate.

They have got the ages given at death and it was 47 however the Elizabeth Bolton I'm looking for was 55 in the 1841 census

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=uki1841&h=68705&ti=5538&indiv=try&gss=pt&ssrc=pt_t56603189_p48011155573_kpidz0q3d4801115557 3z0q26aidz0q3d440600616040z0q26pgz0q3d32771z0q26pg plz0q3dpidz0q257caid

Can anyone find Eliza/beth after 1841 please?

Is her age correct on the 1841 census, Julie?

That's weird - when I search Cheshire BMD, it doesn't show the age at death for that 1842 death.

There is an Elizabeth Boulton death in Stockport First sub-district, also in 1842, age 57 (on Cheshire BMD). Presumably the one Oct-Dec 1842 Stockport on FreeBMD.

FMP has the burial of Elizabeth Bolton at Macclesfield 16 Oct 1842, abode Macclesfield, age 37. Should be the one whose death cert you mentioned at the beginning of this thread.

Then there is an Elizabeth Boulton death in Macclesfield district Apr-Jun 1850, shown as East Macclesfield sub-district on Cheshire BMD, but again, no age at death is showing for it. But FMP has the burial for that one, too, 22 May 1850, age 2 months.

The National Burial Index (on FMP) has Eliz'h Boulton buried 23 Oct 1842 at Tiviot Dale Methodist, Stockport, age 46, but I would have thought that she should be the one whose age is shown as 57 on Cheshire BMD. Very confused!

There is a widowed Elizabeth Boulton, age 66, nurse, born Beeston Cheshire, at Great Sutton village, Cheshire, on the 1851 census:

But this is nowhere near Macclesfield.

Thank you soooo much Kite.

I've not had much luck with the certificates I've ordered today. Berwick registrars phoned and it wasn't right one from the two choices. blow back to square one on that one.

Stockport is where Elizabeth Bolton was in 1841 census aged 55 - so it could well be the right one even if the age is out.

I don't know how accurate the age is on the 1841 census.

Will send for it anyway just to see. - sent by post

I saw the nurse in 1851 but discounted it - as I thought she would have moved to Oldham with her daughter and son-in-law if anywhere. Thanks again.

PS. Thank goodness I didn't send for the Macclesfield death - I've just found that I already had it and it was wrong. That Elizabeth was 37 and married to Peter Bolton who registered the death. Just goes to show you should update what you have before sending off for something else. lol

Well death certificate arrived for Elizabeth Boulton who died Dec qtr 1942 age 57 Stockport.

She was the wife of Richard Boulton a carter.

When I looked for this Elizabeth in the 1841 census it seems she's down as 40 so definitely not mine.

So that's 2 wrong certificates for Elizabeth.
