60th of the Old Boys of St Wilfrid's school, Haywards Heath to lose his life in WW1.

Albert was born 1890 in Haywards Heath to Albert and Jane Hole, the family lived in Franklynn Road. His father was a postman and young Albert became one too, by 1911 he was working for the Post Office in Maidstone, Kent. He married Emily Gertrude Beard in 1917, they lived at Belle Vue, Kent’s Road, Haywards Heath.

He was killed in action in Belgium on 26 April 1918 and has no known grave but is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial there. Emily received his pay owing, £31 12s and a War Gratuity of £17 10s. She remarried in 1923 and it was not until 1925 that she administered his affairs, he left £148 6d.
