He could be the John Aughton who was baptised 1 Jan 1687/8 at St Cuthbert, North Meols, son of Thomas Aughton, but I haven't proved this yet. A possible burial 1 Feb 1737/8 at St Cuthbert, North Meols, abode Church Town, but no age at death is given on the burial record.
