I have Ada Venning b 1886, Ellen or Nellie Venning b 1888 and Bertha Venning b 1892 all in Swadlincote or Church Gresley, Derbyshire.

All three are with their parents Charles and Jessie in 1901 but not in 1911. I can't find marriages or deaths for them.

Two brothers emigrated, one to Canada and the other to the USA so that is a possibility.

The Canadian Passenger Lists on ancestry have Nellie and Ada Venning arriving at Quebec in May 1906, Nellie age 18 and Ada age 20, from Derbyshire, ultimate destination in Canada: Lloydminster.

Here they are in the UK Departures on ancestry, mistranscribed as Venney:

Thanks Kate, just Bertha now then.

This could be Ada:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=115899211

Ada Venning Ford, maiden name Venning, wife of James Ford, 1886-1955, buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada.

Here is Ada with husband James Ford on the 1911 Canadian census (on a free site - Automated Genealogy) and it says she was born in England, so it must be her.

And on the 1921 Canadian census (on ancestry) James and Ada have a son James age 9, born Ontario.

Hmmm, Nellie goes to Canada again in 1910, age 22, with a Mary Venning age 33, also born England. Their destination is Lloydminster again so I presume it is the same Nellie:

Nellie is a servant on the 1911 Canadian census:

Here is Bertha arriving in Canada in 1909 (FamilySearch):

Age 16, destination Lloydminster.

Then in March 1913 Bertha is on a passenger list returning to Canada from England with Ada Ford and Ada's son James Vaughan Ford:

There is a marriage between a Bertha Venning and an Isaac Brock Carnes 26 Mar 1913 in Winnipeg:

I'll try to find out more about them to see whether it is the right Bertha or not.

Yes, it is the right Bertha; here is a transcription of the 1916 Canadian census entry for the Carnes family, on FamilySearch:

Julie, I haven't gone back into the Cornish line yet. I just want to produce a simple tree I can print out for my friend. I will go further back at some point but at the moment I'm going no further than her great great grandparents on her four grandparents lines.

I will get back to you when I start the Cornish Venning's. I may need your help. Never done any Cornish research

I'll be asking your advise when the time comes Julie, I've never used an OPC.

Julie

I've told my friend Kim about your Venning's. I then showed her a photo of you. Her reaction was, OMG she looks like my nan Winnie Venning. You never know we may have a connection.
