Hi,can you help me find some information about my great grandfather Hugh Thomas born about 1872 in the Dyffryn Nantlle area,he married Annie Francis Sarah in 1896,she was born in Llanllyfni in about1873.I would like to find them in the censuses and who Hugh,s parents were,would also like to know how many children they had,I only know about my grandfather William Edwin Thomas born about 1899.

From the 1911 Census it seems they might have had just one child.

The best way to find out who Hugh's parents were would be to order a copy of his marriage certificate, which should tell you his father's name and occupation. Otherwise you could easily go wrong, as Thomas is such a common surname.

The North Wales BMD site lists the marriage as "Caernarfon, Civil Marriage", so it will not be in the church records on Findmypast and you would need to order a copy of the certificate from the GRO or local register office.

Thanks Elizabeth,don't worry I am welsh I understand it all.Annie Thomas was Sarah before she married.Would it be at all possible to find who Hugh's parents were and if he had any siblings?

As Kiterunner says, you would need to get a copy of Hugh and Annie's marriage certificate to be sure of finding the right Hugh in earlier census records etc.
