Name - "official" name and what they were known as
James Smith (possibly aka James Hammond)

Date and place of birth
30/11/1869 - Hampstead Norris, Berkshire

Names of parents
Sarah Smith (and possibly Thomas Hammond. Sarah and Thomas married and had 10 children together but I have been unable to find out whether Thomas was James's father)

Date and place of baptism - if applicable
02 JAN 1870 Hampstead Norris, Berkshire, England

Details of each of his or her marriages - if any
04/02/1893 to Jane Liddiard - Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Hungerford

Occupation(s) - if any
Engine Driver

Military service - if any
He was in the Royal Berkshires and aunty thinks he saw action. I've got a picture of him in uniform but have not been able to find any military service. I think he would have been too old for WWI but the right age for Boer War.

Addresses where they lived - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on.
Think I've got all - need to find files.

Date, place and cause of death
20/10/1932 - liver cancer - Hungerford workhouse

Date and place of burial / cremation.
U/K

Details of will / administration of their estate - if applicable
U/K - doubtful considering he died in the workhouse

Memorial inscription - if any
U/K

Thanks Jay, I'll have a look at that.

What I should have said was he WAS in the RBs (as can be seen from his cap badge) and aunty reckons he did see action. Actually, I'll got and change it now lol.

Thanks Merry. I should have a note of that somewhere as I got someone to check the PR for me in the vain hope that the Vicar had written 'illegitimate child of Thomas Hammonds (or whoever)'. Sadly he didn't lol.
