Afternoon all

I have a Hannah Armitage who was born pre 1800 and died in the very early days of civil registration in 1837 in Salford RD. As she isn't on the post '41 census I have no idea where she was born.

I also have a Harriet Maria Armitage born around 1818 in Manchester (according to census) in my tree, there is a possible baptism for her though a little early if the census dates are correct and with an additional middle name

Name: Harriet Maria Mellor Harmitage
Gender: Male
Christening Date: 26 Nov 1815
Christening Place: Pendleton (near Salford), Lancashire, England
Mother's Name: Hannah Harmitage

Any suggestions as to how to find the birth for Hannah and also to see if Harriet is or isn't her daughter?

******EDIT******

Just found the death announcement for Hannah, daughter of the late John Armitage, innkeeper, Kirkamgate.

Marriage record for Hannah, time and place can't discount her as mother to Harriet though as yet I haven't found Harriet in 1841.

I'm confused, Glen - are you saying that the Hannah who married Benjamin Goulson in 1817 is the same one who died in 1837, and what surname is her death registered under?

Yeah Hannah married Ben Goulson, death ref in 1837 is Hannah Goulson. I'm looking for her birth and to see if she is connected to Harriet.

So does the death announcement that you mentioned in post #1 match up with the death registration?

Okay, found her burial on ancestry:
19 Jul 1837 Methodist Chapel, Pendleton, in the parish of Eccles: Hannah Goulson age 43, abode Pendleton.

So she was born about 1794 according to that.

But the death announcement for Hannah, daughter of John Armitage, is that for the same person?

Witnesses at Benjamin and Hannah's marriage were Frances Coupe and George Hankinson. The marriage was by licence.

It's the same Hannah, the article names Benjamin Goulson, surgeon, as her husband and her being daughter of the late John Armitage, innkeeper, Kirkhamgate
