I'm struggling to find Ann Granfield b1796, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa in 1881.

She is in Lincoln throughout the census years and the death index suggests her death was registered there in the Dec qtr of 1881. Can anyone find her?

Thanks, record isn't on fmp that I can see. At least it confirms she was alive in 81 so the death record later that year ties in nicely

It is on fmp, Glen.

That is the only census where all providers have used the same transcript.

FMP strikes again, I can see the image off the link but she's not coming up in results when I search

It's working for me: I just typed in Ann Granfield on the very first search screen, then 1799 for dob with +/-2 years as that's the default, and on the results page the 1881 census record is the 4th entry.

Different story with newspaper reports, seems hubby may have been a carter then waterman and lots of court appearances for drunken brawls and mooring his boat illegaly. Seems a son may have been a local bobby too as he appears quite a bit.
