possible Oakes connection

Samuel Oakes b 1902
www.lancashirebmd.org.uk has Mothers Maiden Name as Power
www.freebmd.org.uk doesn't have a marriage ??

am I doing something wrong - or is Power her maiden name and she married Oakes in her 1st married name ?

I guess he is the Samuel Oakes who is 9 on the 1911 census, born Liverpool, son of Samuel and Annie, living in Kirkdale. They have been married 13 years on that census. On Lancashire BMD their marriage is listed as Samuel Oakes and Annie Pover, 1897 at Everton St George. And the name certainly looks like Pover on their marriage certificate - image is on ancestry:
