In 1881 Richard Mattin (sometimes Matten/on and even Mallin), was a Farm labourer, age 30, with his wife Charlotte, age 28, and their children George, age 7, Ellen, age 5, Louisa, age 3, Anna, age 6 months - all born Marlesford except Ellen born in "Canada America", living at Sandy Corner, Marlesford. There is a death registration for an 8-year-old Ellen Mattin registered December qr 1884 Plomesgate District.
As Ellen was born in Canada, her parents must have travelled to and fro Canada but I cannot find them in a passenger list.

My guess is that they came back in 1877, the year before Ancestry's indexes start.

Louisa's birth was registered Apr-Jun 1878 Plomesgate district, so they must have come back before that date. The UK Incoming Passenger Lists on ancestry do start in 1878 but there is only 1 ship arrival from that year listed, and that is from December.

George's birth was registered Apr-Jun 1874 Plomesgate, so maybe we can find them travelling to Canada after that date.
