Yet another missing marriage.....

On the 1911 census William Armstrong, Single born 1881 Kyo, Durham is lodging with a Sarah Jane Robinson Married born 1881 Blaydon Northumberland, at 60 Blandford Street Newcastle. Nobody else is registered at the address on the day of the census.
Sarah has been married for 10 years and has had two children, one of which has died.
I would love to find a maiden name and marriage for Sarah. I would also love to find her husband and child.
Can anyone help with this please. :)

Hmm, living in 2 rooms (including the kitchen, if she had one) with a male lodger. I'll have a look...

Well, I may be putting 2 and 2 together and making 5, but this is what I have so far:

Possible marriage for Sarah Jane Oct-Dec 1901 Tynemouth; these are the names but I haven't found out for sure who married whom yet:
George Smith Robinson, Sarah Jane Marlborough, Annie Robson, Joseph Swann.

On the 1911 census there is a George Smith Robinson age 35 in Tynemouth with his mother and siblings but he is down as single. There aren't any children under 10 in the household.

There is a George Smith Robinson who died in North Shields 20 Oct 1926 with administration going to widow Edith. Their marriage was in 1913 but I can't find a death for Sarah between 1911 and 1913, or a divorce. Of course it might not be the same George Smith Robinson - or I might be barking up completely the wrong tree!

A William Armstrong married a Sarah Robinson Oct-Dec 1916 Morpeth district, but they're both very common names, so not necessarily the same couple.

This could be the baby that died:

Births Dec 1903

Robinson George Smith S. Shields 10a 790

Deaths Dec 1903

Robinson George Smith 0 S. Shields 10a 498

EDIT _ on further inspection there are an awful lot of Smith Robinsons about, so that birth/death could easily be a red herring!

Re the death (husband of Edith), there are two George Smith Robinsons born similar dates and places, so could that death/will be for the "other" man?:

Births Sep 1876
ROBINSON George Smith Tynemouth 10b 196

Births Dec 1877
Robinson George Smith Sunderland 10a 610

Of out now.

Hi again. Sarah Jane Marlborough married Joseph Swann. I have already traced her and in the 1911 census she is living with her son Joseph Hilary Swann. Hilary was the father of Sarah Jane Marlborough.

Well done; that rules her out then. Back to square one...

I have also looked at the Morpeth marriage but have been slightly dissuaded by the fact that Sarah on the marriage record was simply 'Sarah' and not 'Sarah Jane or Sarah J'.
Thank you both for all your help :)

There's a John William Robinson who marries a Sarah Jane Sowler Apr-Jun 1900 in Middlesbrough district, as the other two on the page definitely married each other.

Some other possibles where I haven't sorted out who married whom yet:
Oct-Dec 1900 Sunderland: Sarah Jane Bishop / Sarah Haw / John George B Parkinson / Richard Robinson
(edit - eventually managed to rule this one out using the awful Sunderland BMD site)

Jul-Sep 1901 Durham: Arthur Dodds / Sarah Jane Farmer / John William Robinson / Mary Jane Stephenson
(edit - ruled this one out on the Durham BMD site)

Oct-Dec 1901 Teesdale: Janet Allinson / Sarah Jane Horn / John George Kirtley / William Robinson.
(Edit - there is a likely John George Kirtley / Janet couple in 1911 so I think William Robinson married Sarah Jane Horn.)

Thank you so much for your help Kiterunner. I still have not sorted out who is who but at least I have narrowed the field a little!

I have now found John William Robinson and Sarah Jane Sowler in Thornaby on the 1911 census which means we can also discount this Sarah Jane.
