With the very kind permission of Guinevere, I’m pleased to announce the official launch of The Surname Society http://surname-society.org Please have a look if you have a spare minute, and see what the society can offer genealogy as it evolves in the 21st century. It has been set up by six experienced genealogists from around the globe and has been many months of hard work in the making. It is not in competition with any other single-surname research entities; it is taking a new and different approach, and giving people different choices. You can also see the video of the inaugural Google+ hangout on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfKVs94_Uyc

That looks good Mandy. I'm afraid I couldn't get the gist of another one I looked at.

I'll re-read it in the morning....Eyes are glazing over now.

If I have the gist of it......I can add more than one surname and it doesn't matter what sort of research method I have.

Also.......would living people with the surname be hidden??

Hi Libby

Apologies for not having got back to you a bit sooner. Lovely to see you have joined up :) We are trying to offer a flexible, straightforward approach, and there are lots of ideas in the pipeline. We also have a forum which is proving popular.
