Rosie

I think the registers for North Clifton are in Nottingham library, probably at the archives as well. I'm sure we looked at them there. Have you looked for her baptism on them?

I have Barks, Pratt and Reckless in North Clifton

Hi Jay,

Don't think I've quite got the hang of the 1911 yet lol. If I search for Jane Clayton b1857 and other Claytons it just brings up her and George. If I remove the dob it brings up 17 Claytons. How did you pick up that Frank Hartwell was with them please?

Hi Margaret. There are some Notts records in Newark library, not sure about North Clifton. I've never bothered much with baps to be honest, when I've got a cert. I suppose I ought to, with it being an orignal source lol.

From my research on the censuses, I have ascertained that Jane was born at her mum's sister's house. Not sure of auties surname at the mo but will check just incase it's a Barks. Feel fairly sure I haven't got any Pratts or Recklesses lol.

Margaret, my Jane's mum's sister's married name was Troop.

There are two Jane Clayton deaths in Lincs between 1911 and 1955 but neither fits with the age

Deaths Mar 1917 (>99%)
Clayton Jane 69 Lincoln 7a 701
Deaths Jun 1928 (>99%)
Clayton Jane 74 Grimsby 7a 703

(just checked transcriptions and there's not much done after 1936 so she may be amongst those)
