An 1880 health inspection record for the road in which my family was living

shows that as well as one case of small pox & one of scarlatina, the "number

of houses in which nuisances were found" was 41.

Any ideas as to what would have been classed as a "nuisance?"

Thanks Kite - so it would have been referring to health hazards.

Love the name of the first Inspector of Nuisances - Thomas Fresh!
