Hi Everyone,

Hoping someone might be able to find what I can't :(

Annie Farrell and her husband James are on the 1881 census in Sheffield (Brightside) with their daughters Lilly & Annie. Annie was born in 1854 in Boston, Lincs. James was born in 1855 and according to the 81 census, in Salford, Lancs. (Annie is my distant family member).

I've found Annie on the 1900 census in Pennsylvania (Allegheny). She is widowed (James died in 1899 according to the grave i've found on findagrave). She has 8 children which includes Lilly & Annie. She states on this census that she entered the US in 1885 but on all further census there, she states 1886. I've found Annie's death cert on Ancestry from 1937 which states she has been in the US for 51 years which ties in with 1886.

I've spent ages trying to locate Annie, James, Lilly & Annie on a passenger list but am drawing a blank. There should also be 2 more children with them, Martha born 1881 and James born 1884 (according to census they were also born in England).

Can anyone help?
Many thanks :)

This looks like them travelling to Baltimore in May 1886 on the Nova Scotian (on FamilySearch):
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-267-12454-27301-12

It comes up in the Canadian passenger lists but says on the image they were going to Baltimore. James senior isn't with them; he had probably gone on ahead and sent for them when he had a job, and accommodation for them. There are a few possibles for him on the passenger lists but hard to know which is the right one.

I'll see if they are mistranscribed on ancestry now we know where they should be.

Here they are on ancestry:
Baltimore Passenger Lists (http://interactive.ancestry.com/8679/mdm255_41-0230/1080533?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2 fcgi-bin%2fsse.dll%3fMS_AdvCB%3d1%26db%3dbpl%26rank%3d1 %26new%3d1%26so%3d3%26MSAV%3d2%26pcat%3d40%26gss%3 dms_r_db%26gsfn%3dlil*%26gsfn_x%3dXO%26gsln_x%3dXO %26msbdy%3d1877%26msbdy_x%3d1%26msady%3d1886%26msa dy_x%3d1%26msadm_x%3d1%26gskw%3dscotian%26gskw_x%3 d1%26dbOnly%3d_F0005959%257c_F0005959_x%26uidh%3dv m5%26msbdp%3d2%26msadm%3d5&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnSearchResults)
It is a different document but same ship, same voyage.
