On Familysearch there's a transcription of a marriage between John Clemoes and Catherine Buffow 07 Nov 1723 at Little Petherick, Cornwall.

I wanted to check the image on Familysearch's Cornwall digitised registers but for some reason I don't seem to be able to zoom in to see what Catherine's surname might be alternatively.

The image is Number 27 of Little Petherick's Baptisms, Marriages & Burials 1706-1812.

I'd be grateful if anyone is able to shed any light!

I cannot access it myself but I bet my bottom dollar her name should read BUSSOW - a very common Cornish surname, whereas BUFFOW is unheard of! (By me, that is)

Thanks, I was convinced Buffow was wrong as not only had I not heard of it, but I couldn't find any other records. I'll have a look at Bussow. Thanks for your local inside knowledge!

Hm. Can't find her on familysearch, but FMP has the marriage as Bussow!

Bussow, the transcribers have mistaken the old S's for F's.

Thank you Elizabeth! I was puzzled that most Bussows on familysearch are from around St Ives, but there are some marriages there in St. Ervan and St. Columb Major that have to be mine!
