From FMP's recently added Devon parish records:

http://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=gbprs%2fdev%2f007341837%2f00005&parentid=gbprs%2fdev%2fmar%2f215200%2f1&highlights=%22%22

The entry at the top of the page reads that John Wood married Elizabeth on 26 December 1723.

Any suggestions for Elizabeth's surname, please?

It looks like Hake to me, Shona.

I have Devon Hakes in my tree too!

That's what I thought, too - thank you.

Elizabeth's surname is transcribed as Hakefrank, which threw me.

I've not come across Devon Hakes before - the ones I'm looking for are from Uffculme.

My Hakes were from the early 1600s in the Plymstock area.

Shona - what an odd transcription!
I have been correcting a lot of transcriptions in the past few days.

It looks as though the "frank" is a mistranscription of "both" :)

That's the kind of thing I would normally expect from ancestry, not FMP!
