New Zealand Birth Index 1840-1950 (http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=8949)
New Zealand Marriage Index 1840-1950 (http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=8950)
New Zealand Death Index 1848-1980 (http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=8952)

The information included in each entry is very basic, but it does cover a wider year range than the New Zealand BDM site, and often will give you the name of the district, plus in some cases will give you the quarter of the year, which the NZ BDM site doesn't. Best used in conjunction with the NZ BDM site though:

New Zealand BDM (https://www.bdmhistoricalrecords.dia.govt.nz/search/)

Thanks, Kate.

I should find some of my Scottish emigrants on there.

I've already found a 1930 death on there which doesn't come up on the NZ BDM site.

Although it does not give the quarter, using the NZ BMD site you can drill down to the actual date, it takes a bit of time, but narrow down the month and then the date.

There are a heap of mistranscriptions resulting in a lot of people not appearing.

These have been updated today and now the date ranges in the titles are:
Births 1840-1950
Marriages 1840-1934
Deaths 1848-1964

I believe that all the post-1914 births included now are stillbirths, and they have removed all post-1934 marriages and post-1964 deaths, presumably to comply with New Zealand's privacy rules? I wonder whether they will update at the start of each new year to add a year's worth of records back in.

I think that I had some links to records in my ancestry tree which have disappeared as the records disappeared from the database but no way to check. (The actual entries in the tree have not been changed, only links removed.)

I'm glad I looked all my NZ branches up on there before they removed the more recent stuff!

Yes, it would have been very annoying to lose some recent entries, although you can't blame them for being strict about data protection.
