I have an inventory from 1699 for John Plummer (possibly my 8x-great-grandfather).

The appraisers are Richard Kestle of Probus yeoman
Thomas Plummer of Probus ?mong?
Duglass Kestle of Probus yeoman

What occupations are there with -monger?

It almost looks like ?ellmonger.

Fellmonger - "a person who prepares skins for the tanner".

I would agree with fellmonger. Have come across that as an occupation in quite recent census records.

...costermonger and fishmonger are the only two others I can think of.

On further perusal, I can confirm he was a fellmonger. Some of the family in this area were tanners, which ties in well. If it is the same man, he had become a Yeoman later in his life!

Many thanks for the help.

Some of my tree are cheesemongers. None of the other *mongers I can think of are actual occupations. :D

Elizabeth, I agree - you don't want to be reading about fellmongering whilst cooking lunch!! lol

Allowing myself to stray rather far from the original topic... (sorry Elizabeth)

warmonger, but that's not a paid occupation!!!! Scaremongering is quite popular too!
