I went looking for Ibbot on the Cornwall OPC and there aren’t a lot around, although the name can be found back in the 1500s.
I found the following Ibbots marrying in the same area at the same time:
1. James Ibbot m Martha Thomas 1743 Breage, a son James 1743 Breage.
2. Honor Ibbot m George Serl 1746 Breage, children as above.
3. Thomas Ibbot m Elizabeth Tresise 1746 Breage, children – Elizabeth 1747, Thomas 1749, Honor 1752, Arthur 1754.
4. John Ibbot m Margaret Serl 1749 Breage, children Mary 1750 Breage.
5. Anne Ibbot m 1751 at Menheniot. Ann of Quethiock so probably not to my family.
6. Catherine Ibbot m 1753 Robert Richards at Breage.
Katherine and Richard are the only ones whose baptism I have found –
19/7/1724 Breage – parents John and Honor.
and
7. 4/12/1726 Richard Ebbat - parents John and Honor
I think possibly Katherine and Richard are the youngest and that the baptism records that have been transcribed, or survived, started from that time.
I think having the name Honor ties the above as siblings - 2, 3, 6 and possibly 4, because siblings often married, which only leaves James at Breage, so I’d say he is a brother too.. I’d say Anne belongs to another family.
The surname of Honor Brenfell .. is changeable too .. starts as Bromefill 1615 then becomes Bremfield/Brenfield/ then Brounfield and finally Brownfield. I think the name Brenfell is a one off and she should be Brounfield/Brownfield
