Great news for those with ancestors in Bedfordshire:

I don't understand the results obtained from any search I do. They seem to be telling me I need to visit the CRO for whichever county is relevant. Is that correct? (and therefore is of little help!!)

That's right Merry, all it does is tell you where the records are.

Some of the results for Wotton Underwood, Buckinghamshire indicate that the documents are held by the Huntington Library, which is in California! How am I supposed to access those!

It's a lovely place to visit, Elizabeth. They have
The Blue Boy (http://www.huntington.org/WebAssets/Templates/artdetail.aspx?id=14392&terms=the%20blue%20boy)
and
Pinkie (http://www.huntington.org/WebAssets/Templates/artdetail.aspx?id=14394&terms=the%20blue%20boy)
:)

EDIT: And palm trees...

I'm sure I would love it, Janet, but I am rather perplexed as to why a library in California is holding records relating to Buckinghamshire which I would hope to find at the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies.

Thanks Kite, I got over excited by Phoenix's initial post!
