For England and Wales.

These records are already available on the BMD Registers site and The Genealogist but it will be very useful to have them on ancestry too!

Thanks, Kate. I suspect I shall not find anything new as I have probably exhausted all avenues with my Quakers.

I hope to find some more entries. Somewhere I have a list of things I found on BMD registers but hadn't thought worth getting. I wonder where the list is though?

I'm out most of the day today, so I hope they get things fixed ready for when I get back! lol

Oooh, the results look OK for me.

It's working for me too now so I have edited the first post of this thread.

This is going to keep me busy for a while! Like you, Merry, I have loads of entries which I haven't paid to view the images for up to now so I can fill them all in at last.

I'm also finding these extremely useful as I am saving the images. The burials are particularly helpful. I love the instructions to a man to "dig a grave" before a certain date.

I'm glad to see that they have converted the pre-1752 month numbers correctly!

As an example, one of my ancestors is John Cator / Cater who is stated in Burke's Peerage to have died "21 June 1704" and there are about ten public trees on ancestry (including mine, until now!) with this death date. But the Quaker records actually say, "Jno Cater Senr departed this Life the 21th of the 6th mth 1704 And was burried the 25th day of the same month." So he actually died in August and ancestry's index gives his date of death as 21 Aug 1704.

Kate, I'm getting some more accurate dates too.

I'm having trouble trying to download an image:

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&db=UKQuakerBMDReg&rank=1&new=1&MSAV=1&msT=1&gss=angs-d&gsln=Jef*&dbOnly=_C000000F|_C000000F_x&uidh=xt1&pcat=34&fh=5&h=6516259&recoff=7+31&ml_rpos=6

It's the marriage of Hannah Jefcoat and William Palmer. When I click on the images (there are four for this marriage) and try to use the orange "Save" button, there is text about the source running across the top which makes the save function unuseable.

Is there a way round this?

It seems to save o.k. for me, Elizabeth. I'm using Internet Explorer. Are you using a different browser?

I'm using Firefox and I just can't click on the button.
I haven't had any problems with other images - it's the long banner across the top which is the problem.

I've used IE to view the images and download them. The save button is further over to the right and not obstructed. Phew!
