If at first you don't find it, keep looking!
I was reading the Lost Cousins Newsletter which prompted me to have another look for my grandmother's school records. Her name was Annie Eliza Matthews.
Without really thinking, I looked for Eliza Mathews [one t] and up she popped, at a different address from any of the others I had for her. I know it's her because her birthday is right and her father is recorded as John Garvie, who was her stepfather. I'm sure I'd searched for Mathews before but with Annie instead of Eliza!
