Nothing to add to BK6 from this thread

Can anyone see what happened to Ephraim Maynard?

He was baptised Nov 1834 in Kempston, Beds, the son of Thomas and Ann.

In 1841 he is with his parents and siblings in Russell St, Bedford.

In 1851 he is an ag lab, lodging at Palace St, Bggleswade with a family called Carter. (Entry spelled Minnard)

In 1852 he is in Bedford jail but is acquitted of theft.

After that there's no sign. Can anyone see him?

Just having a look, but haven't found a thing so far, and I've tried censuses, newspapers, passenger lists and the Ancestry global search.

Thanks for looking, Mary. He's being very elusive!

Being acquitted of stealing those eggs seems to be Ephraim's last appearance. Although there are other Kempston Maynards in the criminal records. There's Levi, William and Charles.

I wonder if he changed his first name.

Under Minnard, there's Eli, Samuel and Joseph committing crimes in the area. Some good descriptions of them. Yours, too?
