Lots of mine too. And not enough time to check them all !

The NSW indexes to Deceased Estates 1880-1923 are available at the NSW State Records Website, too.

Deceased Estate files I have looked at just list property and its value, assets and liabilities, executor, or administrator. It does not list next of kin or personal details if I remember correctly, unless they relate directly to the property listed.

It also shows date of death and place of residence. I've found a couple who died in New Zealand on there.

Brilliant, thanks.

Yes, I noticed some place of residence listed as interstate or NZ, they must have had property in NSW at the time of their death.

My great-grandfathers deceased estate file showed that he had properties with mortgages and listed the mortgage holders, which was very interesting, but listed only the lot and DP numbers, not the street addresses, so just one more small thing to investigate.
