My 6x-great-grandparents were William Hatch and Mary (née Budd) of Bramshaw, Wilts/Hants. Mary died in 1728 and was buried at St. Peter's, Bramshaw.

William remarried:

Name: William Hatch
Marriage Date: 21 Dec 1733
Parish: Broad Chalke
Residence: Bramshaw
Spouse: Sarah Holliday
Spouse Residence: Out of Wiltshire
Document Type: Licence
Notes: Sarah is of Newbridge, Hampshire

William died in 1754 and left a will.
Sarah Hatch died in 1760 and left a will.

I'm trying to unravel her family from the details given.

First my Desire is to be buri’d by my Late Husband at
a Place called Lyndhurst at the Descretion of my Executor Hereafter
Named Is this Mr Holliday or is William Hatch buried there? I haven't found a burial for William Hatch at Bramshaw, but there are MIs there I need to investigate. Was Sarah Holliday a spinster or a widow when she married William Hatch?

Imprimis, I give unto John Chandler of Amsbury and to my
Sister Elizabeth the now wife of John Chandler
Name: John Chandler
Marriage Date: 29 Jun 1728
Parish: Maddington
Residence: Amesbury
Spouse: Elizabeth Highington
Spouse Residence: Winterbourne Stoke

So was Sarah's maiden name Highington??

Also I Give unto my brother in law William Plasket The Sum of One Shilling
All the Reast Resedue and Remainder of my Estate Money Stock of
Cattle Household Good and all or every thing else whatsoever I Shall
Die Posseed of after my Deceas I Give Henry Plasket James Plasket Sons
of the said William Plasket

Name: William Plasket
Marriage Date: 26 May 1724
Parish: Downton
Spouse: Hanna Clarke

Was Hannah Clarke a sister, or what other significance does "brother in law" have for William Plasket?

I've tried various things, but I'm not getting any answers.

I ferretted around for my Hampshire Burial CD (which I expect you have anyway!) and got absolutely nowhere very fast!

Yes, same as me, Merry! Thanks for looking.

I found William Plaskett's will, but I don't think that would help much.

Looking on Find My Past, the marriage between Elizabeth Highington and John Chandler records her as a spinster, aged 30.

Also on FMP, there is a burial of a John Highington at St Peter's Winterbourne Stoke on 3 June 1710.

There are a couple of Heighington wills in Winterbourne Stoke.

I'm revisiting my research as I have now got the will of John Budd, the father of Mary who was William Hatch's first wife.

I'm getting somewhere with Sarah:

HOLYDAY, John, of Newbridge, Eling, and Sarah Baby
16 Jan 1721-2

The marriage for Sarah Holliday, 12 years later:

Name: William Hatch
Marriage Date: 21 Dec 1733
Parish: Broad Chalke
Residence: Bramshaw
Spouse: Sarah Holliday
Spouse Residence: Out of Wiltshire
Document Type: Licence
Notes: Sarah is of Newbridge, Hampshire

From Sarah's will:

I Give Henry Plasket James Plasket Sons
of the said William Plasket William Baby John Baby Elizabeth Baby Ann
The Wife of James Andrews Eamy the Wife of Richard Renalls John Bourn
And John Hinnin,

There was a large Baby (!) family at Bramshaw, where the Hatches lived, and they appear later in my tree. Another researcher has Sarah Baby baptised at Bramshaw.

I still can't find Sarah's burial, or William's, for that matter.

William Plasket married Mary Babey
29 Dec 1725
Eling, Hampshire

"And I do hereby Impower the said John Hinning..."

Joseph Henning married Elizabeth Baby
13 Dec 1737
Winchester St Michael

A suit was brought against John Hinnin after the will was proved.

The above will for William Plasket was wrong.

This one looks better:

Alt Ref No 1775A/084
Title Will of William Plaskett (Plasket) of Langley, Eling, Hampshire, husbandman
Date 1775

I think Sarah came from this family:

BRAMSHAW
Baptisms for children of William Baby
William 19 Nov 1684
Dorothy 17 Apr 1688
Sarah 24 May 1692
Elizabeth 27 Oct 1694
Edward 13 Nov 1697
Mary 29 Dec 1700

Sarah Baby firstly married John Holyday
then William Hatch

William Plasket married Mary Babey 1725
"I Give Henry Plasket James Plasket Sons of the said William Plasket"
I can't find James.
There are two Plasket boys baptised at Eling:
Henry 8 Jul 1744 father William over 12 years
William 26 Dec 1745 about 17 years (father not given)
These two fit with the marriage.
Perhaps James was not baptised in the C of E.

I Give Henry Plasket James Plasket Sons
of the said William Plasket William Baby John Baby Elizabeth Baby Ann
The Wife of James Andrews Eamy the Wife of Richard Renalls John Bourn
And John Hinnin

William Baby (probably Sarah's brother)
Children for William and Ann at Bramshaw:
Ann 7 Mar 1719/20
Mary 7 Aug 1720
Eliz 4 Mar 1721/22
William 24 Mar 1722/23 (just William given as parent)
Amy 18 Oct 1724
John 11 Aug 1729

So William, John Elizabeth, Ann and Amy mentioned in the will are accounted for here.

I found this marriage, but not Amy's:

Jeames Andrews m Ann Beby (sic)
29 Mar 1747 Southampton All Saints

So I think I've more or less worked out how William Hatch and Sarah knew each other and Sarah's family. Most of her bequests are now clear.
