Just stumbled across the ebay listing on the following link;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Guide-to-Memory-by-the-Rev-J-H-Bacon-1889-Edition-/261297941243?pt=Antiquarian_Books_UK&hash=item3cd6922afb

and there is a reference to a Henry Goulson, apart from the date of the book print (1889) and the Rev Bacon being connected to Great Gonerby near Grantham I'm stumped as to who Henry may be. I realise the signature could be far later than the 1890's but the only Henry Goulson I have ever found (descended from a surgeon from the Grantham area) was baptised in Manchester in 1803 and then he seems to vanish so he seems unlikely.

Any suggestions?

Glen...you know my English geography is rubbish, but I did find these...

1901. Henry Goulson age 42, Lavenham.

1861 Henry Goulson age 26 in Kensington.

1851 Henry Goulson age 2 Leicester.

1911 Henry age 1month Suffolk (doubt it's him...lol)

He has a middle initial - looks like an O. But I wonder if the surname couldn't be Coulson rather than Goulson. There are a few Henry O Coulsons on FreeBMD.

Mmm

1851, Henry Goulson aged 2 in Leicester is a new one on me, as for hthe Coulson, it's a possible, the name certainly crops up in the area around Grantham and Lincoln (there is even a Coulson St in Lincoln).

Glen....had another look at Henry from Leicester. he's been transcribed as Henry, but the image has William Henry. He's the son of Charles and Louisa.

I couldn't see a birth registration for William Henry, but the only likely marriage for his parents seems to be for Charles Coulson and Louisa Hutchinson in 1845, Leicester.

Do you think the middle initial on the image is O?

Yes.
