A pretty hopeless one I think. The Vicar of Cookham in Berkshire wrote in his notebook that my 4x great grandfather Daniel Smith (born abt 1793 Cookham Dean according to census but no baptism found) was the son of John who died in the workhouse.
This would place him as John Smith buried at Cookham from North Town Workhouse 29 Nov 1829 aged 80. Not much to go on
