Can anyone check the probate index for 1972?

Unfortunately that would be in the gap in Nottinghamshire Archives' holdings, so I can't look it up, sorry.

I've been to a probate registry this morning and found the entry I was looking for.

It was very interested using the HMCTS Will Finder and I found details of some other relatives.

I didn't like that you could only search a four year period at a time by death date/year, so it wasn't possible to just find grants made after 1966.

I ordered two wills and they will be delivered to the probate registry tomorrow and I can either go in and collect them tomorrow or they will post them out to me.

My god, that's what they used to do at Somerset House in the 1960s. Or do you mean the search parameters for a single search?

I suppose if you were looking for a single will, then four years after death would be a reasonable period to search. And easier than playing with the microfiche.
