I think that I have the correct couple. However, because of the lack of records from this time, this all comes with a health warning!

James Scot
Baptised in Campbeltown on 2 Feb 1735. Parents Francis Scot and Agnes Gray.

Margaret Peterson
Two possibilities:
1 Baptised in 1740 in Campbeltown. Parents: Archibald Peterson and Isobell Campbell.
2 Baptised on 10 June 1744. Parents William Peterson and Lilias Raside.

This info is from Family Search. I haven't yet viewed the images on Scotland's People.

NOTES:
OPR from Campbeltown:

'James Carnegie, labourer, Ballemanoch and Catharine Scott [FFMMM] daughter of the deceased William Scott [FFMMMF] late weaver Kirkmichael both of this parish married 16 March 1813.'

Kirkmichael was part of Campbeltown.

Catherine Carnegie or Scott was found dead on the hill on the farm of High Glenramskill in the parish of Campbeltowm on July 14 1860. Her age was estimated to be 70. Her parents aren't named on the death certificate.

There is a birth of a William Scot on 10 May 1771 in Campbeltown. He was baptised on 12 May. Parents named as James Scot and Margaret Peterson.
