I have no other information at all about William.
My 4xG-grandmother Sarah Crofts, married in Quorn, Leicestershire, in 1764, aged 27, and William is named as her father in one of her children's (Baptist) baptisms. I haven't found a likely baptism for Sarah yet.
Sarah's husband, Thomas Parkinson, had moved to Quorn from Sawley, so it's quite feasible that Sarah's family came from there too. The above baptism for William is the only vaguely likely one I've found so far.
