Looking for a 1911 census record for a William Thomas Carr.
He was born in Whissonett in Norfolk, then moved to Bagillt in North Wales, some records he is under the name William Carr then some under William thos Carr. I can find his Marriage record, found his wife on a 1911 census record with her 1st husband, her name was Mary Barnett Brentnall 1st husband was John Gordon.

William & Mary married in 1913 the year their first child was born Marjorie Carr.

He was born in 1878, he was living in Wales in 1891, I thought I had the 1881 census record for him but I haven't.

What was his occupation when he married Mary, please? Or on his children's births / baptisms?

Wait - a public tree on ancestry shows the 1913 marriage taking place in Birkenhead registration district? So couldn't he have been in England in 1911?

This is a link to the 1881 census entry from one of the trees on ancestry:

I wonder whether this could be him?

William Carr, single, 30, working as a joiner at Bottisfield Colliery, birthplace is given as Bagillt but it could just be that the householder filled the form in when he wasn't around to ask. (William is a boarder with a family called, guess what - Jones! Address 11 Hamner Terrace, Bagillt, Flintshire) I'll see if there is a William Carr born Bagillt on earlier censuses to check, though.

I can't find one born Bagillt on the other censuses, so I think that will be him.

On the census record I have for him, it has his place of birth as Whissonett Norfolk.

Yes, he was born there, I'm just saying that the householder who filled in the 1911 census form put Bagillt down because she didn't know he was born in Norfolk.

I just had to check that there wasn't actually a William Carr born Bagillt because if there was, that would have been the person I found in 1911. But as there wasn't, the one I found in 1911 is likely to be the person you're looking for even though his birthplace is wrong.
