Roger is mentioned in an article in the Barnoldswick & Earby Times, Friday March 14th 1952:

"Mr Percy Atkinson’s great uncle, Roger, took over the shop from William, and started a shop in Butts, Barnoldswick, in 1825, and when he left the country for Bengal, two years later Mr Atkinson’s grandfather Thomas took over."

Roger was actually great grandfather, not great uncle, and as for leaving for Bengal in 1827, unlikely was he died in November of that year!
