Parents marriage in Somerset at St Peter, Runnington on the 7 Sep 1719 of David Dyer and Charitie Slade, both of the parish of Nynehead Flory.
The Baptism records for Runnington do not appear to have been transcribed, so probably this is where the possible baptisms 1720-1729 are.

This looks likely to be his baptism (from FreeREG):
13 Jul 1735 St Andrew's, Wivelscombe, Somerset - David, son of David and Charity Dyer.

There is also a baptism at St James, Fitzhead of a William Dyer, son of David and Charity, 3 Nov 1738.

Thanks Kate that is great to have. The confusing part is that the Baptisms now found are 1730, 1735 and 1738 and yet the marriage is 1719. I am wondering if the date at marriage should be 1729 and there is a transcription error?
Milverton, Wivelscombe, Fitzhead, Runnington and Nynehead are all quite close. David when he married Betty Warren in 1762 was a Yeoman, do you think there would be a will? Julie

It sounds quite likely there would be a will, Julie, but not all Somerset wills have survived. Info on here:

They do have an index of Somerset wills but it only starts at 1812. For some reason the link is not on the above page but here it is:

If you have a look through the Index to Death Duty Registers on Findmypast it should show whether there was a will or admon but unfortunately this is not fully searchable by name so you have to plough through it.

FreeREG has baptisms for Charity Slade listed 6 Jan 1694 at Monksilver, parents John and Jane of Stogumber, and 8 Jan 1694 at Stogumber, father John. It looks likely these are both for the same person and if this is the right Charity, she is more likely to have married in 1719 for the first time than in 1729. More likely there are some earlier children whose baptisms we haven't found (yet).

Also I don't know whether you have seen that FreeREG has a burial for Ann Dyer, child of David and Charity, 2 Jan 1731 Milverton St Michael, buried at Ninehead, abode Taunton.

I found the marriage 5 June 1677 of John Slade and Jane Baker .. a bit confusing as it is registered twice on FreeReg at Monksilver and Stogumber. Maybe one is the mother church .. at least it survived ..
