FamilySearch has some other possible children baptised at Burbage:
John Brant christened 25 Dec 1782, father John Brant
Jane Brant christened 22 Mar 1785, parents John and Elizabeth
Elizabeth, Benjamin and Joseph Brant christened 30 Jul 1794, parents John and Mary.

So it could be that John was married twice, or there could be two Johns around the same age.

Thanks Kate. I'll look into that when I get the laptop out. Not got my tree on the IPad.
