OC will be pleased to know that the A2A website is back:

http://nationalarchives.gov.uk/a2a/

I'm a bit less pleased, because there no longer seems to be a way of searching all the National Archives collections at once, unless I'm missing something.

This is the page with links for searching all the various sites:

Oooh, thankyou for the tip off, Mary! I was only recently bemoaning the demise of A2A.

They've divided their searches in two, which is a blinking pain, because you can no longer see documents in local record office which relate to the same circumstances as those in TNA. And I do NOT like Discovery. It chops off all the juicy bits. I just hope that by the time I can next visit my ordering history still exists. *looks for another loom to smash*

I haven't seen what they have done but I've struggled with discovery

Discovery really annoys me because if you have a surname that is also a place name you get lots of unnecessary hits.
