I have found a marriage bond:
http://www.whipple.org/oxford/4_alpha_by_brides_names.pdf
Year 1711
Groom Parrott, Wm
Parish Burcester
Bride Eggleton, Sarah
Parish Wotten Underwood, Bucks
I've looked on GENUKI but it's no help.

Is it a variant of Bicester, maybe?
(edit - snap, Jess!)

Thanks, both of you - Bicester is where they married!

Can't be a pronunciation thing. Burchester doesn't sound anything like Bister.

It says Burcester (no h) in the bit that's copied and pasted, UJ.
Bicester House (known as Burcester Hall in the17th century)

Maybe someone woked at the hall?
