I've found my 3x gt grandfather in The Bethnal Green Rough Examination Book 1840,
Robert Wheeler http://search.ancestry.co.uk/Browse/view.aspx?dbid=1557&path=Tower+Hamlets.Bethnal+Green.Settlement+Papers .Rough+Examinations%3a+Indexed%2c+1840.182

Does anyone know what the abbreviation "F.O." means in this context? Something Order, perhaps? The family were given outdoor relief according to the Removal Order that corresponds with this.

I wonder if it is a forwarding order? It seems to relate to people moving from one board of guardians to another.

Oh it could well be that, Phoenix!

I just couldn't think of a term that fitted...

Thankyou :)
