We have just returned from the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies in Aylesbury.
I photographed a few marriage bonds which I had identified and offered a correction to the index. The archivist informed me that they are going to put the index on the website. When I enquired when, he said there was a meeting about it tomorrow. However, he said he could send me an electronic copy of it - lo and behold it was waiting in my inbox when I got home 5 minutes ago!
If anyone is interested, please let me know.

Thanks Elizabeth. I've found by 3xg grandparents, confirming my suspicions about the wife's identity - great.

Out of interest, has anyone found marriages they were searching for?
I did, thank you, Elizabeth - William Edmonds, surgeon, and Elizabeth Stace, both of Wendover. :)

Hi Tom - I've just sent it to you.
Thank you Elizabeth!
I have found my 5x great grandparents Edward Arnold and Anne Ward, marrying in 1789. I now know his occupation and his age at marriage, meaning I now know he was born c1760.

By the way, if you find a marriage here then the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies at Aylesbury should hold some documentation. I have photographed a few of mine.

Thanks Liza next year I will definitely have a look at what they have.
Summary of what I found that was very helpful..
I had a marriage noted of William Ware to Elizabeth Bennett but no date and it was there. I knew that George Ware's 2nd wife Catherine Abbey had been married to a Horwood, but didn't know that it was a 2nd marriage for Horwood too. We knew that was some discussion as to owned the farm originally .. so this might give some clues.
I can't get back earlier with my Aldridge/Alderidge at Chesham, Darvill/e and Dod/d ancestors, but there are marriages for couples who might be the ladies grandparents.
The one who has been most interesting is James Thompson carpenter 25 High Wycombe married ? Birch (Elizabeth) 23 Great Hampden 11/5/1778 Great Hampden. This conflicts with Ancestry trees .. I will make another thread about this. Many thanks again. Julie
