The Gloucestershire Archives list a will for a John Perry of Upton St Leonards, date 30 May 1811. I'm not sure whether that is the date of the will or the probate. You can order a copy from their site:

And FMP has the burial with the date you gave in your post, at Upton St Leonards, age 91.

Thanks for the will information Kite. I doubt that is 'my' John though, and probably too old to be his father John, but apparently there was a son of Mary Gabb & John Perry named John so it could possibly be his will.

Further investigation needed I think!
