Hi Mary

I discovered this post earlier today when I googled the inscription from a family bible we have.
Inscription reads
Sarah, daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Beamish was baptized on the 24th of June 1734.

Date tallies with your post so maybe Sarah's mother was actually Elizabeth.

I can't email you a copy of the inscription through the forum as it apparently exceeds the permitted file size, however if you are interested, mail me at
[email protected]

regards

Hi

Just noticed a dot was missing from my email address
should read

[email protected]

I am trying to connect Sarah Beamish to known forebears, which looks like it is through Ashbourn.

I have copy of marriage certificate (5th July 1842 at Burton Hastings) for Thomas Cooper Scott and Mary Ashbourn, father's name is Joseph Ashbourn - Farmer.

Regards

Paul Shelton

Ah, I thought the address looked odd, but my message didn't bounce back.

Sarah Beamish married Joseph Ashbourn (c. 1733-1796), farmer of Bramcote, Warks. I think he was the son of John and Rebecca Ashbourn, whose marriage I've never found.
They had various children including a son Joseph, who appears to be your Mary's father.

Anyway, I'll e-mail you.
