ElizabethHerts kindly found some references at the National Archives online to this branch of the Seldon family, but I've been unable to confirm them yet. I'm still trying though! ;)

Sue, this marriage took place in 1755, so 5 years later than you stated. However, I posted it as Tawstock is only 4 miles from Landkey and the name Jane/Jone could be interchangeable. (Am I clutching at straws??)

Sue, when was the first child born?

The first child I have is Richard, baptised in Landkey on 20 April 1756. (not 1856 :()

I had seen that marriage before (I think you may have found it for me?;))
and I'm not sure whether it is 'mine'.

I do have the stuff from Genuki, thanks.

Sorry, I tried to multiquote and I can't do it today for some reason.

I should think the marriage is a strong contender. You could ask if anyone on any forums visits the RO at Exeter to look at the PR.

All 6 of his children inherited 1/6 of a property called Thorne Park in the Parish of Charles. This was left to them by a John Thorne-I don’t know his connection
