Joseph King was the father of Benjamin King (http://www.genealogistsforum.co.uk/Forum/showthread.php?t=11186&highlight=benjamin+king)

I have his name from Benjamin's baptism in Beccles, Suffolk, England, in 1783, Benjamin's mother was Elizabeth (http://www.genealogistsforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=216373#post216373), but I have nothing else :(

This may be useful...

On Ancestry's UK Land Tax Redemption, there is a Jo King, Beccles, 1798.

And the National Archives have a will for Joseph King, miller of Beccles, proven 3 July 1801.

There are three pages and it would cost you £3.36 to view.

Now that's a b*gg*r... I smell red herrings....

Joseph's widow was Elizabeth, so that fits, but..

Benjamin is Joseph King (the miller)'s nephew, not his son:

What do you think Benjamin's occ is?? Does it say 'builder'?

And then, when he says that Benjamin gets it all if Joseph's direct descendants die, it looks as if Benjamin is a miller??

It doesn't show his occupation on the first one, it just says Benjamin King the Elder. And on the second one, yes, he is a miller.

On the thread about Joseph's wife I posted up a possible marriage in Norfolk and I think there was a Benjamin King son of Benjamin baptised in the same place, I think it would have been around 1781. I'll go back and have another look. But I suppose Benjamin King the elder would be the father of the one baptised c1781.

This is the marriage I found on FamilySearch: Joseph King / Elizabeth Meek 15 Apr 1780 Wickhampton, Norfolk.

Halvergate is very near to Wickhampton.

And on the same page is Dec 18th 1780 Benjamin King bachelor & Mary Bately spinster both of Wickhampton, married by banns. Then Benjamin, son of Benjamin King & Mary his wife, is baptised 30 Sep 1782 at Wickhampton.

Now looking at Halvergate, there is a burial there 15 Feb 1785, Joseph King son of Benjamin King & Mary Bately. This is just from FamilySearch's index, I haven't checked the images but will have to leave that till tomorrow as it's very late! It does look very likely that these are the right people and we just have to fit them together. (Obviously your Joseph is not the one buried in 1785)

FreeREG has a burial at Halvergate 21 Feb 1806 Benjamin King, married man, age 43. I was looking at some info about the mill and it seems to have changed hands between 1802 and 1806 so it is likely that this Benjamin was the miller. So he was born about 1762-3.

There are so many Benjamin Kings around! FreeREG has a Benjamin King buried at Halvergate 5 Nov 1772, abode Wickhampton. It doesn't give his age, though. I'm wondering if he is Joseph's brother or father.
