Thanks for your interest Liza .. a little summary:d Haven't connected the two families .. sometimes spelt Pugson.
Samuel and Alice were both widows when they married at Saddleworth in 1821. Kate found her 1st marriage to John Shaw. The family lived at Greenacres Oldham Lancs. Never been able to positively find their deaths - Samuel died between 1841 and 1851 and Alice between 1851 and 1856.
I believe Alice was born 1787 Almondbury near Slaithwaite to Joseph Pogson but haven't proven this.
Daniel much easier to trace. Born Greenacres Shaw Lancs, one of 7, most of whom a cousin has traced to Aus, parents Daniel and Martha Stott married 1820 Oldham, this Daniel was born 1793 Ripponden to Daniel and Hannah Garside m 1769 Elland Yorks (13 children), this Daniel born 1744 Marsden/Almondbury to Henry and Sarah. Lots of Pogson parallel families with large families. Daniel and Hannah both buried Scammonden but Hannah's notes residence Rishworth.
I found a lot of information on the Launds Inn Museum site - while the burials were at Dean Head Chapel it gives their residences etc - Henry buried 1777 aged 85 Ing, Rishworth (white piece maker) and Sarah buried 1780 aged 75 Darby near Ing, Rishworth. (I went looking for the Museum and Satnav and I got hopelessly lost in Golcar !! ) Cheers. Julie
