Daniel and Betty Pogson (Pugson) & family

I somehow have a feeling that I have lost the information.. wonder if anyone can find it please.
Daniel Pugson (Pogson), a carter also carder, married Betty (Betsey) Woodhead at St Mary the Virgin, Prestwich on 16/7/1848.
Emma Ann or Emily Ann's birth was registered on 1/12/1849 at Side of the Moor, Oldham, Lancaster.
I am sure someone found them on the 1851 Census, but I can't find what I have done with it.
In 1856 William Edward was born at Beaston in Yorkshire and by 1860 they were living at Yugilbar in NSW Samuel Henry's birth reg at Tabulam.
I similarly can't locate their shipping .. and I know I had it ..
Can you help please. The records keep changing the name between Pugson and Pogson .. originally spelt Pogson but became Pugson in Aus.

Ancestry have transcribed their names as:


David Payson 26
Betty Payson 29
Eneram Payson 13 Mo

David for Daniel is a classic error.

Kate has made a correction to the surname in 2010, so I expect there is another thread on here already!! I didn't bother to look, because I guessed I should look for a David if you couldn't find them!

Many thanks Merry. Kate did a lot of searches for me way back when I joined. I searched under Pugson and Pogson but obviously didn't look closely enough.

OOh Daniel says he is a miner and that they are Baptist .. now I know why I couldn't find the children's baptisms .. cause there weren't any!! What would they be mining in Lancashire/Yorkshire? Coal?
