Obit: "The death occurred suddenly at Randwick last week of Mrs. S. Ward, of "Brunswick," Dundee. Owing to ill-health, the late Mrs. Ward went to Sydney about nine weeks ago to her daughter, Mrs. Fraser, and as her health had apparently improved the end came sudddenly and as a great shock to the family.
The deceased lady had resided at Dundee for 30 years, and was well-known and highly respected by a large circle of friends. She took an intelligent and practical interest in the welfare of the distrit, and the community will be the poorer for her passing. Her family has lost a sympathetic guide, and her friends one whose kindness of heart received daily expression.
The late Mrs. Ward, whose husband predeceased her by two years, is survived by two daughters - Mrs. Oliver Sloman (Deepwater) and Mrs Will Fraser (Randwick), and three sons - Messrs. Albert and Oscar Alt and Colin Ward
The remains were brought to Glen Innes, and following a service at Holy Trinity, the funeral proceeded to Dundee, the interment being made in the Church of England portion of that cemetery. Rev. Canon Coates officiated at the church and at the graveside. Messrs. Kinsella Ltd. (Sydney) and Messrs. H.A. Tutt and Sons (Glen Innes) had charge of the mortuary arrangements."
