If anyone is bored, I would welcome some help with this, please. It is for a contact in Argentina who knows nothing of his Holden family before they went to Argentina in 1924.

If anyone can see

Thomas Holden, born 1892 in Castleton, Lancs, parents John and Agnes,

in 1901, that would be a good start, thankyou!

I picked up a hint on familysearch which looks like it may be Thomas - in Oldham in 1901.

(KNOWN: John Holden married Agnes Bolton in 1877 at Ribble RO or RA.
Son Thomas Holden born 13 June 1892 at 404 Manchester Rd, Hopwood, Castleton, Lancs.
He married 28 Sept 1916 to Mary Wareing, one child Mary Margaret born Aug 1918 (now deceased).

Thomas, Mary and Mary Margaret emigrated to Argentina Dec 1924/Jan1925 aboard the OROPESA)

Thomas was a cross country runner. I've googled that and come up with nothing.

Thankyou both so much - how rude I am, going off to watch telly while you work for me!

Now this is a funny thing but I have a strange feeling that this family are going to be connected to the Chaigley Skull. They appear to be RC, judging purely by names and John is from Aighton/Hurst Green.

Hmmm, how to tell my contact........

Hahaha! Not only the Chaigley skull lot, but I have to tell him that there appear to be three generations of cousin marriages!

Of course, he will need certs to confirm my sketch work but it's looking as if his family were also related to the murderess of Hurst Green!

He's a newbie researcher and I think he's going to get a bit more than he bargained for.
