I'd like some opinions please!

William and Joan Webster baptise 6 children at Sunbury on Thames, Middlesex between 1742 and 1753. Amongst them is Dorithe (sic) in 1745

However there is also a Dorothy Webster baptised 1740 in St Botolph, Aldersgate to a William and Jone (sic)

How likely is it that they are the same couple given the distance between the two areas? I can't find a marriage for William and Joan or a burial for the first Dorothy. Interestingly some of the Sunbury family were in the Aldersgate area two generations later.

Hmmm - I've just found a baptism for a William Webbster (Webbier on Ancestry) 1725 @ St Giles Cripplegate, parents William (a cooper) and Dorothy. Which would be about the right age...

It seems likely enough to work on, I'd say :-) People have to come from somewhere and it's not that great a distance. I don't know if I'm not getting something but the 1725 baptism is only 15 years before the 1740 baptism?

Thanks for looking Asa. You are, of course, right about the age difference between the two baptisms - maths was never a strong subject......
