Please can anyone help to restore this photo? I know its in a terrible state
I am just hoping that it can be made to look better than it is at the moment.

Many thanks

I've only done anything to the large crease:

Some of what I've done is a bit too sharp, I think. If anyone wants to play with my effort please feel free.

Merry that is lovely, thank you.

I think you've done a fab job!

I agree,

the restoration is of the tear is a very good effort and I especially like the rebuilding of the face. I'm not sure which editing program you've used but with minor tweaking you could easily remove the discolouring from the dress where the tear used to be, so it looks more natural.

Thanks Brent and welcome to GF :)

I use Adobe Photoshop 7 but have not learned to use the vast majority of the functions available.

Thanks,

It can be a long process taking in all the functions and my advice is to pick it up as you need it. For example you may want to create a black and white photo with one colour so you can have a picture in a frame with that effect. If you learn techniques doing things that will benefit you or someone else then the learning is far easier to take on board.

Photoshop is a good program to learn with and for those who don't want to pay out GIMP is a free photo editing program, which is great for fixing minor issues such as cropping, rotating, colouring and even minor repair damage.
