Hi

I'm looking for any help on the Hinton side of my family. I have James Hinton born 1851 in Crux Easton, Hampshire who then for some reason moved to Surrey. I have managed to trace back to Thomas Hinton who married Lydia Andrews in 1807, but before that I can find no trace. Any help would be greatfully appreciated

Lydia was the daughter of John & Jane, christened Thatcham in 1.5.1785

There are baptism details for Thomas on the same marriage record on the IGI (Kingsclere 1775). You need to see the parish register film to confirm all the details particularly as they are submitted ones.

I nrealise John and Jane Andrews are common names, but there only seems to be two baptisms for their children in Berkshire on the IGI (Lydia being one) and there is a possible marriage in Kingsclere in 1780 and more children baptised there after the other two, so maybe John and Jane came from Kingsclere too? Worth investigating, anyway.

thanks I'll look into that - Crux Easton nr Kingsclere is where Thomas and Lydia got married so that may be right. I tried the Hackman's parish records, but it only covered 1780 and 1812 and am struggling to find earlier parish records from overseas access
